How many of you are thinking or have entertained the thought of starting your own business?
During my lifetime, I have ventured into this arena.
For so many reasons, I did not continue with any of them.
Whether they were reasons or excuses, nothing would stick.
In the early 2000s, I begin creating a vision board to help me pursue my dreams, visions, and passions.
In 2021 I achieved every single goal except for one.
My vision board had one goal that never changed the development of my blog.
Here I am in 2022; my dream is not a reality.
Before you venture into this world, keep the following in mind:
An entrepreneur should possess communication skills.
Being an effective communicator will help people know your purpose and mission. It will help you grow.
Sell your purpose and vision to make others excited about who you are.
Focus is key to the central part of any plan; you don't want to try and do everything at once. Test out different parts of your business plan and stick with what works.
A solid strategy needs to be flexible but still focus on your vision since we know things change, and you need to be able to keep aligned with the change.
This change should align with your vision.
BE FINE WITH FAILURE; IT IS HOW YOU LEARN.
It's never too late to pursue your dream.
I love my journey and cannot wait to share more with you.
I love your comment that it should have enjoyment when starting your own business. The passion should be real!
This post hit home for me. As my GF has always talked about looking into a side hustle or work for ourself. I am always watchingYouTube videos of streamers all the time why can't I do it, yes it will take time, this is true. The longer you wait, the longer you miss out on a great opportunity.
Great revelation, Renee. When I adventured into starting my own business on various fronts, I found that my journey wasn't a passion in certain areas. And that's why it never came to fruition. I chose Event Planning mainly because it was effortless, enjoyable, exciting, and financially rewarding. To this end is how I understand that wanting to own & manage your own business must be a 'real' interest with an enjoyment factor.
