Grateful & Thankful

According to Oxford Languages, the word grateful means "feeling or showing an appreciation of kindness; thankful."However, being thankful is something different. Being thankful means; I acknowledge my thanks for something.

As I reflect on my life's journey, I have many things to be grateful for and thankful for. And no this is not redundant. Each word has a different meaning.

There is a big difference between these two words for me? Sure there is; I will explain what I mean.

For the tough lessons, experiences am grateful. Some of which were very difficult. They caused deep pain but; without am not who I am today.

As painful as the experience or lessons, it's called growth.

I can never allow my pain to overshadow the lessons my life journey has afforded me. Do I wish I could have skipped some of these? Of course, but I would rathered have the knowledge I have today.

I am grateful every day for having another chance to spend my best life, even in the face of adversity.

Recently, I struggled to make some tough decisions. In the end, I knew my gratitude to myself was way overdue.

See, it does matter your station in life; remember to be grateful for the lessons. Thankful for the journey.
