I don't see it as starting over but rather continuing with corrections, modifications, and/or adjustments. There's always some 'hiccup' or 'a life happens' scenario during life's journey. When opportunity prevails, we need to pick up the ball and begin running with it again. After all, you've already put some time & effort into it before there was an interruption or distraction. It's the dedication towards the betterment of your life that needs to be the focus, not the errors of past misfortunes. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel; you may have to take a bridge if you don't see it. 😃
