Never Forgotten

It's been 21 years since 911, and the world watched in horror.

It is one of those events you can remember where you were and what you were doing.

I was at the ER due to a severe case of bronchitis.

I recall looking at the tv, and as soon as the second plane hit the second building, I thought about my friend. I called her name out to the person I was on the phone with during these terrifying minutes.

There are so many victims from that day, those we have forgotten; people who survived only to get ill years later.

Have we learned anything?

During this time, we witness people from all walks of life come together as one.

Now, look at this country and the world. We need to do better and forget all of this hatred.

On 911, some heroes emerged to save the lives of others.

We need to be more like those heroes.

I pray every day that this nation will come together.

The world we live in will be better.

On this day, I will reflect and remember my friend. As a New Yorker, my life changed forever.
