On April 8, 2024, 13 states experienced a solar eclipse. I was in one of these states. The last time, I experienced a solar eclipse was in 2017 when I lived in another state. But what I saw today was not prepared. As I stood outside, gazing up at the darkened sky, a mix of awe and disbelief washed over me. The sheer magnitude and beauty of the total solar eclipse left me speechless, reminding me of how small we truly are in the grand scheme of the universe. It was a humbling experience that I will cherish forever.
I felt an energy within like no other, and the spiritual awakening was surreal. I began to pray.
Right before the total eclipse, birds were chirping and several dogs began to bark. Then it got quiet and there was stillness. Nothing moved. It felt like the entire world had just stopped. I felt overwhelmed with emotion; I was at peace. There was a stillness in my heart and I knew my concerns and worries somehow had been transformed.
On the television, a little boy was excited for his little sister to experience her first solar eclipse. And he held her tightly as he was interviewed. I thought of my brother and sister at that moment. What a precious gift to experience together. It was a reminder that the bond between brothers and sisters remains, even after death. At least for me, it does. I wish my brother had seen this today. But from the heavens, he was right there, with a better seat than I.
The fiery sparks from the sun reminded me, that my inner spark was still shining brightly from behind the darkness. I am so grateful for this experience today. What a blessing to marvel at the power of God.
