It's vital in both your professional and personal life; when you understand their feelings, you can then know how to react.


I am guilty of this, invalidating how someone else feels because either I don't agree or understand.


The funny thing is I don't like; it when the same has happened to me.


The better action is to understand how much we can accomplish if we try to understand. In your corporate life or personal, listening to others shows you care about how they feel. This type of compassion can go a long way.


Next time you are having a conversation, be willing to learn it is how we grow and can even be inspiring.

When people don't ask why you feel a certain way, they usually don't particularly care, don't know how to respond, or are afraid of your reasons. When anyone says, "Calm down," you need to learn that's the most unwelcome statement to make in the middle of expressing yourself. I remember continually reminding my daughter that I don't mind her telling me how she feels or thinks. It's how she must better choose to express it without being rude, disrespectful, or loud. This will be the only way I can effectively hear her for understanding. NO ONE should be telling anyone how they feel. We all own our feelings.
